| Recent Paintings Artist's Statement
The Dry Stone series is a dance with the invisible. Their structure is stolen from the dry stone walls which lend definition to the contours of the Derbyshire Moors. But it is the spaces between the stones and the forces that bind them that are the subject of the work. Using the traditional stuff of painting and inspired by the liminal space between the stones in dry stone construction they explore the intimate and the distant, memory traces and absence.
